Privacy Policy

This page explains what information is processed when you read Your Rotterdam or write to us. In short: we keep data to the minimum needed to run a simple website, we do not track you across the web, and we do not sell or trade anything about you.

Who is responsible

Your Rotterdam is run by a small group of independent writers. For any question about this policy or your data, email office@yourrotterdam.com.

Reading the site

You can read every guide without creating an account or giving us any details. We do not use advertising networks, analytics tools, social media trackers or fingerprinting. The site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers, like almost all web servers, briefly record technical information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. These logs are used for security and to keep the service running, and they are kept only for a short period by the provider.

The cookie choice

When you answer the small cookie note, your choice is saved in your own browser so the note does not reappear on every page. That record stays on your device; we cannot see it. More detail is on our page Cookies, Briefly.

Email

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to read and answer your message, and we delete correspondence once it is no longer needed. We never add you to a mailing list without asking.

Links to other websites

Some guides link to other websites. Once you follow a link, the other site's own privacy policy applies, and we have no control over what it collects.

Your rights

Under European data protection law you may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use. Send your request by email and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority.

Changes

If the way we handle data changes, this page will be updated. The current version always applies.
